What is Citizenship Amendment Act and Why is NRC a matter of concern.

Image
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance won the election with a thumping majority held on May, 2019 this year. In the same year the central  government has introduced several bills such as Transgender persons (protection of rights) bill and Jammu and Kashmir Re-organisation bill in the parliament. In this same series the government introduced Citizenship Amendment bill and it became an act on Dec 12, 2019. Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 Earlier in 2016, the BJP government introduced the same bill in Lok Sabha. However due to lack of majority in Rajya Sabha the bill got lapsed. But over these years several regional parties like ADMK, TRS, YSRC, BJD and Janata Dal started to give their support to NDA. Since then, BJP government has managed to pass all their long-pending bills in the Rajya Sabha. Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 The Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 aims not to treat any person belonging to Buddhist, Christian, Hindu,

“Imaginable Immortality”

Image
Immortality described as unending existence which has been proclaimed to be attained through mentally, spiritually or physically. Though the belief system of immortality has been quite common and familiar across the horizontal and vertical dimension of geographical territory and human historical timescale, there is no proof or material evidence available yet. Despite these counter arguments prevailing in the rational society, I would try my level best to convince my fellow readers about “Imaginable (Possible) Immortality” in the real world through this article.  Immortality as described above may sound more of spiritual, but in reality immortality as an end can be reached through the means, of spiritual as well as scientific. Personally, I would prefer to approach eternal through spiritual means but due to societal pressure where spirituality is attached to religion and also described as “Non-Sense”, I better start with science. YES, I BECOME RATIONAL NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Manual scavenging – the worst surviving symbol of untouchability

Image
“No modern country in the world forces human being to enter sewers to clean. Why then does India use manual scavenging? It is because we have caste which has for ages been forced to do it for minimal pay”                                                                                                                                                                               --  Dilip Mondal (poet and activist) We regard many professions with high dignity. Some of them are    Civil Servants,  Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers and so on. We all embrace such profession as they possess a very high position in the society. Have you ever thought of people who in spite of doing their job lose their dignity in our very own country?   ‘Manual scavengers’ you may have noted this word in newspaper articles, which would have said “A municipal cleaner lost his life due to asphyxiation entering a pit hole while cleaning the sewers”. What prompts a person to do this job which has no

'Positivity is all what we need'

Image
Image credit @Ashika                      My short insight on  positive attitude  I have seen many people struggle to step forward in their life. People do not suffer since they run out of money or they pertain to a particular caste or religion. Lack of positivism is the sole reason behind almost all sufferings. We take care of our body with physical exercise so as, mental health must also be trained to gain positive attitude. This positivity has helped me support my family and friends in different ways. When you are positive you keep your surrounding in the same manner. You attract positive things more and persons with such positive attitude get attracted to you. Everybody tend to follow a certain religion, we may name it differently but the ultimate thing which gives us deep insight on what we do is the universe. I am a firm believer of this notion. This insight has made me positive all these years and I feel happy and complete.

Toll Free Traveller

“Their bicycles caused no little astonishment on the way, and the remarks passed by the natives were almost amusing. At some of the villages the boys clustered round the machines, and where they could, caught hold of them and ran behind until they were tired out. Many enquiries were made as to the name of ‘them queer horses,’ some called them ‘whirligigs’, ‘menageries’ and ‘valparaisons’. Between Wolver Hampton and Birmingham, attempts were made to upset the riders by throwing stones.”             Above is the newspaper report about three riders who set off from Liverpool to London, a journey of three days and so more resemblant to modern motor cycle touring on March 1869. The  passion for motorcycle touring around the world started in the late 19 th century. More than a century now, motorcycle riders have grown in large numbers all around the world and India is no exception. The passion for touring and riding

THE GAME CHANGER

Image credit @Ashika                                 Air we breathe is the most important component for our life. The quality of air decides the health of an individual. Health of an individual decides the growth of a society. Growth of a society decides the development of a Nation. Status of air in India In India places like Delhi, Patna, Gwalior are the most polluted. The quality of air that the people breathe in such places is the worst compared to other places in our country. Rising levels of PM - Particulate matter in the air that surrounds us threatens not only us but also the children. Luckily people in such cities have found a solution for the problem. The solution for such threatening problem was not planting trees but fixing air purifiers starting from the house to public places such as schools, offices etc. The total market for air purifier in India in FY 2015–2016 was estimated as 40,000 units. It is forecast to grow at least three time

Being Indian

Image
We all have sung National Anthem. Most of us would have first started singing the anthem in our schools. Not even a day started without singing the national anthem during our school days. When I entered college I was shocked, no such activity was carried out there. The class started at eight in the morning and nothing else was so special. What I missed in my college were the morning prayers which ended up singing the national anthem which became a regular practice of my schooling. In spite of our diversities, we all stand together to sing the anthem. It makes us feel the power of ‘we’. The National Anthem was first sung in the congress session of Calcutta during 1911. So why was the anthem written by Rabindranath Tagore? Is that all the countries have an anthem so India should also have one? No, the national anthem written by Rabindranath Tagore is another expression of the unity of India. Songs and symbols that emerged during the freedom struggle serve as a constant reminde

Are you aware of Dust bins?

Image
When I watch people daily who are engulfed in their busy schedule I feel pity. They are so busy going to their workplace, schools and colleges with lots of work to be done on most part of the day. In this busy schedule is it possible to ask whether she/he is aware of dust bins. No I am not joking. I’m damn serious. If at all I prove successful in asking this question that will only be with a result of a blow on my nose as a reward. Is a dustbin so important to us in this busy world? I can hear you! The horrible thing in our country is the fate of the dustbins. We people tend to use things for which they are meant for. Sometimes use for which they’re not meant also. We even use the same thing for multiple works to be done. Perhaps could you imagine a thing which has its presence and often unused (I don’t mean your brain). Yeah unused, haven’t you seen trashes thrown everywhere except the exact place for which it is meant for? Ok, I think I have prompted most of you about th
