Human beings are amazing creatures on earth, because of the influential nature that humans posses, we tend to impact and bring change in nature. The change sometimes is positive or negative. Billions now are threatened from a deadly disease called COVID 19 caused by a virus named ‘Corona’ and still we could control the situation following various ways like social distancing, lockdown, wearing mask etc. We feel proud of ourselves for the scientific development the human has attained so far and soon hope science to produce a vaccine for this deadly disease. We are proud of this nature of humans and with pride , we hope for the best in the coming months. What is pride? Shades of Being. Chapter 1

In a sloppy evening, while scrolling down a list of movies to beat the boredom, BINGO! I found a movie titled “Agora” , thought it could be some kind of horror genre. You know, I am the kind of person who has trust issues with everything, means IMDB guy. The IMDB reviewer’s summary of this movie not so appealing too. Anyhow, I decided to watch this, apparently hooked by its title!  The first thing I had to learn is how much we are pulled by even an unnoticed small thing. The ‘just’ title of the movie strikes the curiosity and make me watch or indulge. The psychological phenomena may play here which attracts us products having crazy advertisements. It is a double-edged sword, having both positive and negatives. By the way, the choice of watching “Agora” was a life-changing moment. Life-Changing! Yeah. Life of a pachyderm At a time before the dawn, it was dark and misty all over the place. The herd of elephants were seen with their calves moving at a steady pace. The elephants were migrating from one patch of the forest to another which they do quite often to escape hunger due to less availability of resources. Amongst the herd, a mother Elephant was seen more cautious with two of its own baby elephants and was more protective than others. There was a reason for such cautiousness.  Years back when this mother elephant was young and was moving in the same manner with its mother in search of food, it lost its brother in a train accident. Such incidents often occur when elephants migrate. Some die because of the train, some in road accidents struck by a truck and some purposefully killed by the poachers. Shades of being chapter 4 on Love

Recommended by a science fiction voyager, I had the chance to watch the movie titled “Coherence” (2013). A low budget highly intelligent content and execution which deserves a couple of hours of our time. To be frank, I could not get grip on the science angle the movie uses to execute its story. But the human emotions it touches make us think another dimension of love. The movie indirectly questions the concept of love: “whether we love the object as we perceive or the person as s(he) is? We, humans but curious, generally are fond of the matters which make us comfortable and ‘isms’ behind the heavenly imaginations. Apart from those curiosities, the need of emotions coming out of ‘wanting to be accepted’ or ‘wanting to be right’ lead us to seek the “Love”. M. Night Shyamalan’s movie ‘Split’ (2016) is a unique and ambitious effort to bring the 24th character, the ultimate one, into our imaginations. While the movie could be appreciated for a number of reasons, what impressed me is the concept that unravelled on the limit of human abilities. There are other movies like “Lucy” (2014) or Limitless (2011) are tried something about the boundaries of the human brain. But what makes ‘Split’ unique is its psychological angle rather than relying upon some crowd-pleasing causes and effects.  I was excited after I watched the movie the first time, went on crazy mode. I could remember that day when I was over frenzied about the movie while I was narrating the story to my friends on the dinner table in our hostel mess. We all have sung National Anthem. Most of us would have first started singing the anthem in our schools. Not even a day started without singing the national anthem during our school days. When I entered college I was shocked, no such activity was carried out there. The class started at eight in the morning and nothing else was so special. What I missed in my college were the morning prayers which ended up singing the national anthem which became a regular practice of my schooling. In spite of our diversities, we all stand together to sing the anthem. It makes us feel the power of ‘we’. The National Anthem was first sung in the congress session of Calcutta during 1911. So why was the anthem written by Rabindranath Tagore? Is that all the countries have an anthem so India should also have one?
